Renmin University of China (RUC) is a comprehensive research-intensive university in China. It focuses on humanities, social sciences, and the science of management, with natural sciences, information science and environmental science as supplements.
Archives of R.U.C was built on March, 1954. Having undergone a lot of disasters, it was rebuild on March, 1995. The archives it holds include the fond of Shanbei Public School, North China United University, North China University, Northen China University, Central College of Finance, Shanxi Financial College and Renmin University. Archives of Renmin University accumulated to 40,000 volumes. It also keeps 20,000 pieces of photos. The content of archives involves teaching, research, administration etc. We also custody 20,000 volumes of Human Affairs Archives.
We have 5 offices in charge of different affairs. Scientific Archives Office is in charge of the collection, custody and supervises of university scientific archives; Administrative Archives Office is in charge of collection, custody and supervises of university administrative archives; Personnel Archives Office is in charge of collection, custody and transport of staff and students’ personnel archives; History Museum Office is in charge of the maintenance and reception o f university history museum; Dean’s Office provides whole coordination and control of all other offices.
The Archives is located in the first floor of East Library.
